“Make a plan that is personal to you. There’s never a one-size-fits-all cookie cutter to this approach and it’s based on many factors including how big your home is, what is your motivation, your health, people around you, all those sort of things. Also, the number of things that you have to redistribute so it all takes time time. Some properties can get done faster than others. What I need you to do is set an end date. You may plan to be packed up and done by your 65th birthday. So set an end date, what works for you and your loved ones too. But really, most importantly… for you.”

- If you do not have a particular timeframe, I would like to suggest you give yourself a maximum of 3 months, so this task does not drag on and on and you feel a sense of achievement as you move through the process. In saying that, do not put too much pressure on yourself, you have a lot of unwinding to do!

- Decluttering is like a muscle, the more you do the easier it gets – just like when you do a jigsaw puzzle, so list your tasks and then we will go about sorting the order in which they should be done.
